Landon Grimm - Certified Firearms Instructor, Chief Range Safety Officer
I have been involved with firearms since a very young age. Growing up in Southern Indiana, I was taught firearm safety by both my grandfather and father. They understood the importance of teaching these fundamentals to the younger generation. For over 25 years, I continued to practice shooting and train even harder, learning various training methods, repetition exercises, dry-fire and simulated drills, as well as researching current state and federal laws and self defense cases. I started showing others how to shoot and properly handle firearms at 16-17, sharing the knowledge I had acquired to my friends and family. I was supporting 2nd amendment groups, teaching others about our rights, and actively training. With the start of a family a year out of high school, I never got the chance to serve in the military or law enforcement. So I decided to finish college and be stateside to raise my daughter and support my family. For the next 10+ years, I continued to train and learn as much as I possibly could. Then on November 24th, 2017, something took place that would be the reason why I decided to start Renegade Ballistics. After a night of Black Friday shopping, I was jumped by 5 men in a mall parking lot. After escaping the circle of their surprise attack, one of the assailants had grabbed my shirt and as I spun around to break free of his grasp, my shirt was pulled up to my chest. As I lifted up and was milliseconds from drawing my firearm in self defense, the closest attacker saw my firearm and immediately turned around running away along with the other attackers. Even though I didn't end up having to draw my firearm, if it wasn't for the fact of legally carrying who knows how badly that day could've been. This incident was the reason why I decided to officially start teaching others. If through my instruction, I can save even one life then I will have fulfilled my service to my community and country. I became a Certified Instructor and Chief Range Safety Officer then started Renegade Ballistics July 2018. My goal is to educate today's generation and the generation of tomorrow about firearms. I want to change the stigma of the Pro-gun community and bring truth to individuals while simultaneously training others to effectively defend themselves.
